After working through temp agencies for many years, I don't take why the company I provide the work to cannot pay me the same or a couple dollars less than what they are zealous to pay the staffing service if they decide to hire me permanent?

It is less up-market and more convenient in the long run to use temporary/contract agencies than directly appoint employees. If a company no longer needs or wants your handling as a temp, they serve notice and out you go.

THE sacked former managing maestro of The Star casino, Sid Vaikunta, was employed on a temporary business visa, content he and his wife, Malavika, are likely to be forced to leave Australia within weeks.

The casino announced last week that Mr Vaikunta's employment had ended ''after his bearing in a social work setting'', which is understood to involve allegations of erotic harassment.

The news has prompted NSW gaming authorities to demand full details from the casino. The Friendliness Minister, George Souris, has raised questions about the timing of the advert, which came shortly after completion of a statutory investigation into its licence renewal in December.

A spokeswoman for the casino's proprietor, Echo Entertainment Group, confirmed yesterday that Mr Vaikunta was no longer sponsored by the circle for a 457 class visa.

''All proper notifications, including to the Jurisdiction of Immigration, regarding Sid Vaikunta's employment ending have been made,'' she said. ''We are not sponsoring Mr Vaikunta in any way.

NORTH BAY — Staffing agencies are reporting an uptick in temporary hiring throughout the North Bay, and those temporary jobs are increasingly becoming eternal, echoing a nationwide bent, according to philanthropist resources experts in the North Bay.

In a latest canvass of staffing employees, the American Staffing League said temporary jobs had helped them move into a persistent standing, and a consider by the University of Florida found that more than three-fourths of workers in temporary positions moved into unchangeable jobs. An additional 23 percent of respondents took on an additional temporary job.
