Put an end to with the ones you know. (Kelly, Manpower, Accountemps.) Temp agencies are as a rule not regulated. These have been around for awhile, usually have repeat business with the same clients.

Some basso-rilievo 'low relief' is in sight for temporary workers in New Bedford with the announcement that EDA Staffing, a momentary employment agency based in Chelsea, will sign an agreement on Thursday with a town organization that represents immigrant workers in the city.

The agreement will look up the conditions of employment for temporary workers and represents a small conventional in the right direction, according to Adrian Ventura, director of the Centro Comunitario de Trabajadores or Workers Community Center in the South End.

"The transient agencies were treating us like machines. We just want to be treated like any other workers, with self-esteem and respect," Ventura said, while crediting EDA for its willingness to reach out to his arrange.

The signing ceremony is scheduled for 11.a.m at the community center on Delano Way and will be attended by workers, community and union leaders and representatives from EDA.
