The governor's $15 million map is contingent upon legislative budget approval.

But Michael Finney, the avert of Michigan's Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), says a equivalent pilot program will kick off this summer with $2-$3 million that is already elbow.

"We have a dozen businesses that have said they're willing to take on people from these populations," said Finney. "That will despatch into 75 to 100 jobs in those four cities, including Flint."

The names of participating businesses serving Flint workers have not been released. The governor named Detroit-room businesses Cooper Standard and VITEC, LLC as two companies already committed to the hiring program.

Finney says structure employment agencies like Michigan Works! will help dig those struggling for employment in the four targeted cities. They also will look for the long-basis unemployed, veterans and ex-offenders who can be helped by the program.

The agencies will look for job seekers with structural barriers to calling such problems with transportation, day care, training and literacy.
