I'm judgement eight hours a day is full time. If I work full time for three days and then the job ends, can I get unemployment compensation based on the circumstances of the disjunction from that job?

Don't talk to me about base periods and so on.

It doesn't puzzle if you are working full time or not, only if you make enough during the quarter to qualify. I worked 30 hours a week but at a pay of $30 an hour so I qualified for the maximum UI payment.

OTTAWA—Statistics Canada says more than 13 million Canadians did volunteer effort in 2010.

The agency says that number accounted for 47 per cent of Canadians over the age of 15.

Volunteers loving almost 2.1 billion hours of their time, which Statistics Canada says is the match of almost 1.1 million full-time jobs.

Ten per cent of these volunteers accounted for 53 per cent of all hours inclined to non-profit and charitable groups.

The agency says those people dedicated a nominal of 390 hours to their volunteer work over the course of a year, or the synonymous of almost 10 weeks in a full-time job.

Another 15 per cent of volunteers devoted between 161 and 390 hours of their time, or between four and almost 10 full-time weeks of voluntary work.

This is National Volunteer Week in Canada.

Prime Man Stephen Harper paid tribute to Canadian volunteers in a annunciation released Monday.
