There was a whopping increase of 10,000 in the figure up of people reporting they were working part time, but analyst Lahouaria Yssaad, with Statistics Canada, said the number of people reporting part-time profession can vary dramatically.

“This does not indicate a trend,” she said in an to.

The province posted gains in some categories and losses in others, with 7,500 more people reporting they were working during the month compared with February 2011, she said.

“Vocation in Nova Scotia was up 1.7 per cent compared with 12 months earlier, higher than the jingoistic average,” said Yssaad.

Employment figures for February, compared with this before January, were down in the retail and wholesale sector, in information technology, taste recreation and construction.
