How hard is government contract work overseas?

I have been offered a control contracting job and will be working 12 hour days, 7 days a week in Afghanistan. How strenuously will it be to work 12 hours everyday? What are the living conditions like, specifically? My contract time is for 12 months with 14 days paid vacation.
