Weird cat condition - she attacks her tail tip!?

Inexperienced but mature cat got dumped at the barn near where I live. No one assumed role for her, so I stepped up. She must have had kittens, but they weren't dumped with her. Her milk swelled for a week and then went away.
This is universal to sound weird, but can you get some kitty prozac for the cat's anxiety? Also, she could have a strip condition. If your vet can't help, get another vet. They should know how to treat this.
